Is Physics Computable or: Can I 3D Print a Galaxy?

Description

With how ubiquitous computers and other programmable devices have become it may seem like they can do almost anything, but with enough time and energy could we 3D print planets, stars, or a hot cup of Earl Grey?

In this talk, we’ll look at the real limits of what any programmable device can do and how these limits depend on deep, unanswered questions about fundamental physics.
