I was laid off twice in 6 months in 2008 when the economy tanked. I learned how to use social media to get to job interviews fast. But I was still traumatized from the lay-offs and couldn’t bring myself to accept any of the job offers I was getting. So rather than wallow in self-pity, I started teaching other job seekers what I knew about the social media job search.
This desire to help turned into a blog, that became internationally syndicated. And eventually, turned into a book for Wiley called, Job Searching With Social Media For Dummies I’ve learned a lot of lessons moving from Blogger to author that I think will be valuable for the audience, including how to get a book deal, how writing for a book will blow you a way (in comparison to blog writing) and how to launch the s**t out of a book in order to rank on Amazon.
